Meeting for the Sonoma South Deanery began at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008
Those in attendance for this meeting were:
- Representing St. Leo's Parish: Nancy Murray & Declan Cunniff
- Representing St. James Parish: Kathy Cheerstrom & Julie Parnow
- Representing St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish: Nora John & Mac McCaffry
Parishes not represented were: St. Joseph / St. Vincent / St. Francis / St. Sebastian.
Opening prayer was conducted by Acting Chair Nora John.
Introductions were made by each representative, and what parish they represented.
An open forum was held to discuss the future meeting schedule for our deanery, and it was decided to set up meetings on a quarterly basis. The next two meetings were decided on, and the next will take place on: Saturday November 15th, and the following meeting will be held on Saturday Feb. 2nd. (Note - at the February 2nd meeting will will decide on the remainder of our meeting's schedule for 2009).
Due to the fact that our deanery is not complete in having representation from all parishes, it was decided to postpone our election of officers until we have a full compliment of staff. Nora John will continue as "Acting Chair" Mac McCaffry will continue as "Acting Vice Chair" and all remaining reps will email information regarding their parishes to Nora John for posting on the website. (All of us sharing in the secretary responsibilities)
No information was available regarding the last Executive Board meeting
- since no one from our deanery had attended it.
Copies of their meeting schedule was given out, and it was decided that
at the Oct. 4th meeting, Julie Parnow from St. James will attend for our deanery. For the November 8th meeting, Nora John from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will attend. Information received from these two meeting will be presented at the November 15th meeting.
Information about our parishes / events & activities / ministry works / were shared by each member in attendance. It was decided that as important information comes up for our parishes, the representative would email this to Nora John, and she would then coordinate and forward to Bob Leet for posting on the website.
Meeting concluded with a closing prayer by all members of the deanery at 11:00 am, and followed with final fellowship, with refreshement served.
